Second ‘dune water tournament’

During the Tata Steel chess tournament several activities for children were organised. One of these activities was the Dune water tournament in Fletcher Hotel Zeeduin in Wijk aan Zee on January 20th

This tournament, which is especially for children, is lead by the Master Hans Böhm. After six rounds, Justus Glowatz from Germany, won for the second time. During the awards, Hotel manager Peter-Paul Jonker told about dune water. This dune water is mined from the dunes right behind the hotel. Did you know that ‘humans use up to 125 liters of tap water per day, whereas a beach uses in summer up to 10.000 liters per day?’. The audience, under which parents and children, listened, while drinking some fresh filtered tap water or lemonade.
