Wijk aan Zee

Tata Steel Chess Tournament

Chess was cemented in the cultural DNA of Wijk aan Zee when the Hoogovens tournament moved from Beverwijk to Wijk aan Zee in 1968. Today Wijk aan Zee remains the location of the main tournament, where the Grandmasters play most of their games.

Visitors are able to see the masters at work during tournament days at the Moriaan (free admission).
